Who is TurboCoach?

TurboCoach is Kai Taylor.

The first two decades of her career were spent managing international 5-star hotels and cruise liners. The interactions with passengers, guests and staff alike have proven to be a solid foundation for successfully connecting with people from all walks of life, nationalities, faiths and interests.

Kai has worked at Senior Executive level for large commercial enterprises with thousands of employees and was responsible for nationwide networks with over 30 locations around the country. She has worked on four continents and speaks multiple languages.

A ‘gap year’ of travelling the Australian Outback confirmed her strong desire to contribute in a meaningful and significant way to New Zealand’s society by way of helping people become more fulfilled and successful in their work.

A further decade later, which was spent in a variety of public sector agencies, Kai completed dedicated coach training with the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL) of Australia and is an officially certified Organisational Coach. She is currently studying toward Certification in Organisational Coaching and Leadership at the Charles Sturt University in Sydney. This is believed to make her the first university certified Coach available in New Zealand.

What’s the story about the name of this company?

In 2012 and 2014 Kai won Targa New Zealand’s Index of Performance of the 4-wheel-drive category as a co-driver. There are also some 2nd and 3rd placings in the 4-wheel-drive restricted category of Targa Rotorua between 2012 and 2014. ‘Targa’ is a tarmac rally on closed roads. She placed 4th in Rally Taranaki in 2013.

In 2015 a race accident meant no more rallying. Far from leaving the sport she loves behind, Kai decided to build on the experiences gained from her successful motor sport career and combine it with her professional background to create TurboCoach. She knows what it takes to win and also how to assist others to beat the competition by navigating them through challenges and unknown territories – at speed.  Not a bad qualification for a coach.
